Working with flowers hasn’t been a life-long dream of mine, something I went to school for, or was raised around. Like all of us, my life has been filled with all sorts of twists & turns along the way that have led me to this very place today. I whole-heartedly believe that God plopped me right here in this very place bringing joy-filled moments to so many AND allows me to fill my artistic void through the medium of flowers.
Over the last 15 years, my husband and I have grown a veggies and fruits on a small acreage just south of Muscatine, IA. Naturally, seasonal flowers were sprinkled in here and there. In 2017, we purchased our current property just East of Muscatine off US-61. The house needed a lot of work, but we saw potential for our kids to have room to play, a great location between Muscatine and Davenport, and a place we could work on over time to be our forever home.
When we were on the hunt again for daycare a few years back. After a long dead-end search for daycare, and lots of prayer, we felt moved to invite our current daycare crew to do life on the farm. It has been through this new chapter that I have discovered the love for flowers.
The Farm:
After many, many asks of why I’m not selling flowers, I dove in! We sold out almost every Farmers Market, online post, and were taking orders! My ‘free’ time was nose-deep in an abundance of research, taking courses and becoming absolutely fascinated by the specialty cut flower world.
I have been so grateful to have our Bouquet Club be picked up by Feather Your Nest Interiors, 838 Boutique, and Niche, etc. to have our Bouquet Club subscription pickups in their storefronts. In the last year, we’ve taken on loads of weddings, hosted workshops & special events, added a cooler & temp controlled studio to easily pop in & grab a bouquet. I’ve also rediscovered the love for painting, and creating through the medium of dried flowers.
All of our flowers are locally grown here at our flower farm, just East of Muscatine, Iowa. Our flowers are a mix of seasonal and specialty varieties offered from April/May through the first frost (typically October). Outside of our season, we’re supporting other American flower farmers to bring beautiful blooms to our customers.
Thank you all for the support. I cannot wait to see where this chapter of our journey takes us!
